We offer online piano lessons for intermediate and advanced students!
Lessons and Classes Offered
Each private lesson includes:
- A warm-up with technical exercises and activities
- Play what was assigned for at-home practice
- Work on new pieces or build on current pieces by reading together, finding patterns, and practicing the building blocks of that piece
- Theory and ear-training activity relevant to current repertoire
Beginner Classes
A beginner level class is perfect for first-time musicians. Students will learn the basics of instrument and musical theory.
Intermediate Classes
The intermediate class builds off of the skills acquired in the beginner class. Students will continue working with their instrument and reading music.
Advanced Classes
The advanced class is for students who have been playing consistently for over 4 years or more. Larissa provides guidance where needed, but students are empowered to direct the class where they need it.
Studio Recital Classes
Studio class is an informal gathering for students only (not their grown-ups) and this class is in preparation for the bi-annual student recital. It happens two Saturdays per year. It is a way for us to practice performing for one another in a casual and supportive setting, as well as a way for us to build our community of pianists. Each studio class has a theme that engages the student-audience and supports each student.
Theory Together Classes (on hold due to Covid-19)
In Theory Together, students taking individual lessons can still benefit from the fun of group music theory and ear-training by partially overlapping with a student at a similar level. We use our 15-20 minutes of "common time" (pun intended) to make music theory and sight-reading more fun with games and activities. Students are always fascinated by what is going on in each other's lessons — so much so that it's often hard to shoo them out the door! Theory Together enlivens the lesson experience with community and social learning not found in traditional piano lessons.
